Holy Cow! I have gone almost a whole month without posting... SORRY
My latest hairbrain idea. - Since the family cookbook went over so well, I am thinking of writing one of my own. For my first attempt, I am going to put it together like the family one in a 3 ring binder. I am going to start out with our favorite recipes that I make all the time, and then add to it in the sections that are slim. I espeically want to get the cooking times for the fresh vegetables. We only have fresh peas in the spring/early summer and I forget from one year to the next, do you cook peas for 6 minutes, or 12. Same with Brussel sprouts in the fall - I can never remember. Then of course, I can never remember which cookbook has all of the vegetable times in it. Have you noticed that new cookbooks don't have essentials like that? I LOVE my old Betty Crocker, Farm Journal, and Better Homes and Garden Cookbooks from the 1950's

Its because they assume if you're using the cookbook, you already know that stuff. Which is, of course, a totally bogus assumption.
