The cook book is DONE!!

Last August, my mother wanted a family cookbook from her father's family. So, for the past year, I have researched the costs of different types of cookbooks, different publishers, etc.
We came to the conclusion that since we needed less than 100 printed, it made no sense to have them professionally done.
At last year's family reunion, we requested favorite family recipes to be mailed or e-mailed to us, along with family pictures of the orginal 9 brothers and sisters.

Staples had 1/2 inch 3-ring binders at 2 for $4.00. They also had 3-hole punched paper. The recipes that were e-mailed, just had to be cut and pasted. All of the hand written ones, had to be typed in. My husband interspersed all of the recipes with either food related clipart, or family pictures. We had a wonderful color picture of the brothers and sisters taken in 1976 that we used for the front cover. (it was the last year that they were all living). We tried to get wedding pictures of most of them (some of my great-aunts were so cute in the 1920's!) and anniversary pictures for as late as we could. My aunt Helen is 95 now, and she is the only sibling still living she loved the book. She sat in her wheel chair and looked at the pictures for an hour.
Here are the final numbers:
76 Cookbooks
125 pages each
9500 sheets of paper that had to be hand collated.

But, we got them done, and handed out to the families at the reunion. Everyone was most pleased with them. I would undertake a project like that again, but I would set our deadlines up by several weeks!
